In Florence, focus has been on improving contractual agreements between the Local Council and facility managers in order to include compulsory energy efficiency obligations. The local council participated actively in n0e-sport, using exchange of knowledge to improve these contracts. And it doesn’t stop there: the regional government has expressed the intention to extend the example from the local council to the regional level.
AREAL successfully carried out the initiative "Training of Municipal Energy Managers", a behavioural measure implemented within the project with the participation of representatives from all the Algarve municipalities, including those managing the facilities chosen for the project (Alcoutim (Martim Longo), Aljezur, Lagoa and Olhão). This training aims to promote the improvement of efficiency in electricity consumption in equipment and services in the municipal management through the training of municipal energy managers. Two training sessions were carried out, each one with a workload of 28 hours (4 days). In the end, all participants expressed their satisfaction, recognising its applicability and usefulness for a better and improved energy efficient management of municipal facilities.
Thanks to the lessons learnt within n0e-sport and from other EU experiences, the City of Vukovar has decided to invest more and better in order to improve energy efficiency in the city. Indeed, they founded a public institution for the management of sports facilities owned by the city (http://sov.hr/). The establishment of this facility will provide quality and rational management of sport facilities. n0e-sport has given a boost to local administrators in order to pay more attention to the theme of energy efficiency in sport facilities.
